The Social Science Research Laboratory (SSRL) is a full-service survey research organization located on the San Diego State University campus. The SSRL was founded in 1974 to support social research at San Diego State University and in the San Diego community. Over the years, the SSRL has proven its research capabilities through completed project contracts with local government agencies, community organizations, university administrative units and university faculty. The SSRL conducts telephone, online, mail and multi-mode surveys; program evaluations, as well as editing, data analysis, charting, report writing, and other services.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive survey research and program evaluation services to university faculty, administration, students, and regional government and non-profit organizations; to provide education and training in current survey research and program evaluation methods to SDSU students via the SSRL internship; to conduct all of our activities in accordance with the American Association for Public Opinion Research Code of Professional Ethics and Practices; and to provide information on current best practices in survey research methodology and program evaluation to SDSU students, faculty, staff, and the greater San Diego community.
